Met Masts
Research and development plays an important role at Seawind. As our project portfolio expands, so does our understanding of specialised equipment. Utilising this experience and expertise, our R&D department has developed a range of meteorological masts to be used in wind climate monitoring campaigns. The range of masts includes.
Over the past seven years, Seawind has installed and maintained over 50 masts in South America and over 20 masts across the rest of the world. This extensive experience has allowed us to gain a greater understanding of the requirements of the masts widely available and the limitations of this equipment. Based on this experience, Seawind have re-optimised the basic mast design to produce a range of easy to use, tilt-up lattice masts.
The modular design means that the mast height can be varied from 30m to 60m by simply adding more units. The tilt-up feature allows fast and easy installation allowing the wind monitoring to commence quickly and reducing engineering costs. Standing on an aluminium base, fixed foundations are not needed and therefore no complex drilling or concreting needs to be completed before its erection. The triangular system allows a more compact packing arrangement than a traditional four sided lattice tower, reducing shipping costs.
